Peugeot RCZ officially launched in Malaysia

RCZ sport coupe Voted the most beautiful car of the year at the 25th International Automobile Festival, the RCZ features avant-garde styling and sexy proportions that introduces a new dynamic design from the French car maker.

 

While the front bears the familiar Peugeot “gaping mouth grille,” the RCZ features a low slung appearance with a distinctive double bubble roof and rear windscreen styling framed by two aluminium arches.

 

Inside, the RCZ gets premium Nappa leather upholstery while the fascia panel comes with chrome-ring dials to immerse the driver in a sporty ambience.

Besides the looks, the RCZ’s rigid body and wide track offers exceptional road holding.

It also gets an innovative active bonnet system with a pyrotechnic system that raises the bonnet’s hinges by 55mm in 0.1 second during a frontal collision to provide pedestrian protection.

At the rear is an active spoiler that automatically deploys at higher speeds to increase downforce for better stability.

The active rear spoiler is capable of deploying in two positions based on the speed of the car to ensure ideal balance between fuel consumption and road holding.

Available in two variants, the six-speed automatic comes with an on-the-road-price of RM218,888 and features a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that produces 156bhp and 240Nm of torque.

The six-speed manual priced at RM223,888, delivers more performance - 200bhp and 275Nm of torque from its 1.6-litre turbocharged engine which has variable valve timing and lift technology.

The automatic can dash fro 0-100kph in 8.4 seconds for a top speed of 213kph, while the more powerful manual variant does it in 7.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 237kph.

Standard equipment are xenon headlights with dynamic directional lighting, LED rear tail lamps, aluminium 19-inch alloy rims, front and rear parking assistance .

Other features include four airbags, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic brake assist, anti-skid regulation and dynamic stability control.

For more efficient braking, the more powerful manual RCZ is equipped with larger ventilated discs.

Assembled at Magna Steyr’s plant in Graz, Austria, the RCZ is available in Pearlescent White or Haria Grey.
