Powerful engine tuning and exclusive accessories that leave nothing to be desired: TechArt Automobildesign also offers an extensive customization program for the new 997-series models Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S.2007 TechArt Cabriolet Porsche Carrera 4S - Cockpit Interior View

TechArt also provides engine tuning for both water-cooled six-cylinder engines of the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S, coupe or cabriolet. The TechArt power kits TA 097/1 for the 3.6-liter version and TA 097/S1 for the Carrera S with 3.8-liter displacement each consist of a sport air filter and newly programmed engine electronics.

After the installation, which can be done directly at TechArt Automobildesign or by any authorized Porsche dealer, maximum power output for each model increases by 15 hp / 11 kW.

Performance improves accordingly: Depending on vehicle weight and the type of tires acceleration time from 0 – 100 km/h improves by slightly under half a second. Top speed increases by some 5 km/h. Even more important for everyday use is the even more spontaneous throttle response and the further improved liveliness of the tuned engines.

The perfect complement to the power kits is TechArt exhaust tuning, of which various versions are available. The product lineup includes oval-shaped dual tailpipes for the production exhaust system, a throttle-controlled sport exhaust system and a complete high-performance exhaust system with high-performance manifolds, sport catalysts and rear muffler.

Sporty elegance characterizes the design of the TechArt aerodynamic-enhancement kit: The production front apron receives more visual emphasis from the TechArt front spoiler. But that’s not all: The spoiler reduces aerodynamic lift, thus further improving directional stability at high speeds.

The alternatively available TechArt Type II front apron with integrated splitter produces downforce on the front axle and supplies lots of fresh air to the coolers and front brakes via larger, distinctively styled air intakes.

The TechArt side sills give the sportscar a longer, sleeker look. The understated TechArt rear spoiler optimizes the effect of the retractable production rear spoiler and lends the cabriolet an even more exciting appearance.

TechArt also developed a rear diffuser for the 997 models, which extends the rear apron downward and provides a dramatic backdrop for the two oval-shaped twin tailpipes of the TechArt sport exhaust system.

TechArt also offers an extensive wheel and suspension program: Owners of the new Porsche 911 Carrera or Carrera S can refine their cars with striking, light-weight TechArt Formula five-spoke wheels with 18-, 19- or 20-inch diameters.

The most exclusive version for the 911 Carrera 4 or 4S features one-piece TechArt Formula light-alloy wheels in size 8.5Jx20 in front and in size 12Jx20 on the rear axle. TechArt recommends ContiSportContact 2 tires in sizes 235/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 20 for mounting on these wheels.

Custom-calibrated to the TechArt tire/wheel combinations are the TechArt suspension solutions. The range of modifications starts with TechArt sport springs for a ride-height lowering of some 25 millimeters. It culminates in the TechArt Vario sport suspension that was developed in cooperation with Bilstein. Contrary to conventional coil-over suspensions this innovative solution not only offers the ability to lower the ride-height on front and rear axle individually by up to some 35 millimeters; the TechArt Vario sport suspension also features sport shocks with adjustable bound and rebound. This allows the suspension set-up to be adjusted to individual driver’s preferences and to the predominant use of the car – on public roads or on the racetrack.

TechArt Automobildesign also offers a height-adjustable coil-over sport suspension for the 997 models with PASM.

For the 997 model series TechArt also offers sport sway bars, a dome cross-brace, and a high-performance brake system with eight-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 365- or 380-millimeter brake discs.

As a world-renowned specialist for exclusive interior creations TechArt Automobildesign also offers individual interiors for the latest 911 Carrera 4 and 4S in all colors and designs.

The program comprises exclusive TechArt Colorline fully leather interiors as well as sporty accessories: TechArt offers ergonomically shaped airbag sport steering wheels, foot pedals, foot rest and shift knob all made from aluminum as well as stainless-steel sill plates with TechArt logo.

New Pajero Sport VGT

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, introduced the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport VGT today. In its effort to further strengthen its SUV line up, the Pajero Sport VGT is a new variant of the award winning seven-seat SUV that was first introduced in Malaysia in 2009.

Mitsubishi’s proven robust and economical 2.5-litre Common Rail diesel engine is now fitted with a new powerhouse management that includes Variable Geometry Turbo, boosting power and torque levels to 178 PS and 350 Nm, respectively.
The Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) technology uses variable vanes to control exhaust flow against the turbine blades, ensuring a constant delivery of additional fresh air to the engine for optimum output and performance.
The maximum torque of the Pajero Sport VGT is made available across a wide band from 1,800 to 3,500 rpm, ensuring stronger acceleration and flexibility. The engine management efficiency is also increased for better power and fuel efficiency.
The new powerful VGT engine also has a new gearbox to partner with. The Pajero Sport VGT features a new 5-speed automatic transmission with Sport Mode, one forward ratio more than the transmission in the Pajero Sport GS. This upgrade provides better fuel economy as well as better driving enjoyment, the latter assisted by steering wheel magnesium paddle shifters.
The new Pajero Sport VGT will be sold alongside the Pajero Sport GS 4WD and Pajero Sport GL 2WD, offering a wider option for customers.
Available in 4 colours, Black Mica, Cool Silver, White Pearl and Quartz Brown Metallic the fully imported Pajero Sport VGT is priced at RM171, 980 on the road inclusive of insurance. Buyers will enjoy a 3-Years warranty and 2-Years free maintenance package for hassle free ownership experience.
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia expects to sell more than 200 units of Pajero Sport per month which is an increase volume of 50% compared to Fiscal Year 2010 (April-March).
“The Pajero Sport has been a great success since its debut in Malaysia. And to date, it has found more than 3,000 proud owners. Offering a new more powerful engine, advanced technology and a classier outlook of the Mitsubishi’s 4WD flagship model, this new Pajero Sport VGT variant is set to further widen the appeal of the Pajero Sport,” said Tetsuya Oda, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
“The riding comfort of the seven-seat cabin is one of its biggest strengths, being both versatile and spacious. With an impressive set of new features, Pajero Sport VGT is one of the best in its class – just the right size for a growing family while delivering reliability, quality performance and safety at the same time,” added Mr. Oda.
Mitsubishi Motors is the most successful manufacturer in Dakar Rally history, and this heritage of performance and robustness is built into the Pajero Sport.
The vehicle has won praises from customers and the media for being a spacious and a comfortable family vehicle. The quality of the vehicle is enhanced in the Pajero Sport VGT, which adds on newly designed plush leather seats for all three rows, as well as a 2-DIN full colour touch screen entertainment system with GPS navigation to the standard equipment list.
The Pajero Sport VGT also comes equipped with Mitsubishi Motors’ Super Select 4WD system that enables it to traverse the toughest terrain. This innovative system gives drivers a choice of driving modes (2H, 4H, 4HLc, 4LLc) for various conditions, be it maximizing fuel economy on tarmac, or for maximum traction on challenging surfaces.
Other safety features includes dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distributor (EBD), Hybrid Limited Slip Differential (LSD) and safety brake pedal to name a few. Standard equipment lists also includes cruise control, auto climate control, and reverse camera.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport VGT will be displayed for public viewing at Mid Valley Megamall from 22-25 September. For more information, log on to www.mitsubishi-motors.com.my or call their Customer Care Line at 03 7622 2202.

New Hilux 2012

Toyota Hilux might not be the star in the family but recently, the Japanese automaker gave a makeover to the model for 2012.

The 2012 Hilux will receive a revised interior that features a new upper dashboard design in which a new horizontal centre instrument cluster reinforces the breadth and roominess of the cabin. It even incorporates Toyota’s Touch; a 6.1″ full-colour touch screen multimedia unit.
Furthermore, the new cabin is significantly improved in terms of design and quality, with greater colour consistency throughout the interior, and the addition of silver ornamentation.
Meanwhile, the exterior gains a redesigned front end sporting a different grille dressed in chrome, new bonnet, headlamps and front bumper. The changes continue with the redesigned front and rear wings, a new crop of 15” and 17” steel and alloy wheels, plus new door mirrors.
Through the introduction of variable nozzle turbocharging, the 2012 Hilux 2WD 2.5 D-4D models benefit from a 24bhp increase in power. The engine now develops 144bhp at 3,600rpm and 343Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.
According to Toyota, despite the power increase, combined cycle fuel consumption has been reduced by 1.0 L/100 km to 7.3 L/100 km and CO2 emissions lowered by 26 g/km to only 193 g/km.

The on-the-road price for private registration with insurance in Peninsular Malaysia for the new Hilux are :
Hilux Double Cab 3.0G (A/T) - RM 107,250
Hilux Double Cab 2.5G (A/T) - RM 96,970
Hilux Double Cab 2.5G (M/T) - RM 91,900
Hilux Double Cab 2.5G STD (M/T) - RM 83,700
Hilux Single Cab 2.5G (M/T) (non-Metallic) - RM 73,256

New Passat 2012

Today, the German carmaker has lifted the covers on the 2011 Passat.
Like the new Golf 6, the 2011 Passat, while based on the current Passat's B6 platform, has been extensively remodelled. But for the roof, which carries over virtually unchanged, every panel of the updated Passat is brand-new.
While the width and height of the '11 Passat remain unchanged, but total length has been extended by 4mm in both sedan and wagon form.
To all intents and purposes, it looks like an all-new model.
Wearing Volkswagen's new family face and rear end, the Passat gets the now ubiquitous LED daytime running lights and a four-bar chrome grille for all variants.
The interior has also been overhauled, with a new instrument cluster and instrument switches and, for that touch of class, an analogue clock. There are also heated and cooled seats for top-shelf models and optional extras.
For Europe, the Passat's engine options will include a 78kW 1.6 litre TDI engine, featuring battery regeneration and start/stop technology, which Volkswagen promises will return a fuel consumption figure of just 3.5 l/100km - bettering the Toyota Prius and the MINI Cooper D.
Two more diesel engines will feature, both variants of a 2.0 litre turbodiesel producing 104 and 126kW respectively.
On the petrol front, Volkswagen's 90kW 1.4 litre TSI will be available, along with a 126kW 1.8 litre TSI, a 156kW 2.0 litre and the top-shelf 3.0 litre V6, producing 225kW.
Manual and DSG automatic transmissions will be offered, while Volkswagen's XDS electronic limited-slip differential will make its debut in the new Passat line-up.
Standard safety features will include the Automatic Distance Control auto-braking system, which uses computer controls to brake the car at speeds below 18mph (29-30km/h) if an unavoidable collision is detected.
Interestingly, the system will also automatically accelerate the vehicle if an 'imminent' rear-end impact is detected - so long as the system can also see a clear path ahead.

Cadillac SRX 2011

With the first-generation Cadillac SRX struggling to make gains in the luxury crossover segment since its debut in 2004, General Motors decided to give the 2010 Cadillac SRX a complete makeover right down to the very layout of the vehicle. Sharp, well-proportioned body work rides on a new platform, leading the new SRX to share very little with its previous incarnation. The first-gen SRX's rear-drive layout was ditched for a more compact, crossover style front-drive setup with available all-wheel drive. Now 4.8-inches shorter in length, this transformation dropped cargo space by 8.3 cubic-feet and eliminated the third row seats as well as significant amounts of rear-seat legroom.

The V-8 engine option is also gone, replaced by two V-6 engines, one of them turbocharged for higher performance.Despite its smaller size, the 2011 SRX sheds only a token amount of weight. That weight is a liability for the smaller V-6 powertrains as well as in the handling department, making the SRX feel slower than it really is. Though stylish, the new vehicle still lags slightly behind the competition in quality and fit and finish. Despite this, it resides on the pricier end of the segment especially as options are added.

Ferrari Hatchback 2011

The Ferrari FF is a super cool four wheel drive hypercar that can accommodate four passengers and loads of shopping. The Ferrari FF replaces the four-seater Ferrari 612 Scalietti but unlike that car, the Ferrari FF has loads of room in the rear. Open the door, flick a switch and the front seats slide forward, beckoning you into one of two amazingly ample rear pews, which offer a tonne of space and enough head room for Gulliver himself! The boot offers 450 litres of space which is more than a Ford Focus hatchback. Fold the seats forward and this capacity is extended to a whopping 800 litres which is enough to accommodate a week's shopping.
